Coping Differently Psychology
Welcome to Coping Differently Psychology
Offering psychological support for difficulties related to overweight/obesity, body image, binge eating, yo-yo dieting and weight regain after bariatric surgery.
Hello, my name is Dr Keely Lewis-Clarke. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from Lancaster University in 2009. I am a practicing psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society.
I have worked in the NHS for over 15 years, initially working in primary care with people with common mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety. Since completing my doctorate, I have worked within a community mental health team and a number of different physical health teams including two specialist weight management teams (SWMT). My role within SWMTs has been to help people living with obesity understand the psychological reasons for their weight gain/relationship with food in order to facilitate change. I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the field of specialist weight management for more than eight years and continue to work for the NHS in this role.
I have a great working relationship with three of the Northwest Universities providing doctorate training programmes and have supervised many Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
